TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Winter Haven man died Friday in a crash on Interstate 275 in Tampa.
The crash happened on I-275 northbound near Ashley Drive at 2:40 p.m.
The motorcyclist veered from the right lane to the area at the end of the entrance ramp, striking the back of a Tesla Model 3 attempting to enter the interstate, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle came to rest in the right lane and the Tesla stopped along the shoulder.
The motorcyclist, a 47-year-old man from Winter Haven, was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the Tesla, a 49-year-old Lithia woman, and her 19-year-old female passenger were not hurt in the crash.
