Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol continue to investigate a crash that killed a motorcyclist this evening on I-75 in Pasco County.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2022.
According to investigators, a helmeted 75 year-old male from Hudson was operating a motorcycle southbound on the Blanton Road entrance ramp and failed to safely merge into the southbound travel lanes of Interstate 75.
His motorcycle collided with a sedan that was traveling in the outside southbound lane before being redirected and colliding with pickup truck in the center southbound lane.
The motorcyclist was flown by Bayflite to a local trauma center where he died from injuries suffered during the crash.
None of the other drivers or the passengers in the two vehicle were physically injured in the crash.
All southbound lanes remain closed as of 9 p.m.
