PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 21-year-old motorcyclist from New Port Richey was killed in a crash in Holiday on Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. at the intersection of SR-52 and Parkwood Street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Mitsubishi Outlander driven by a 51-year-old Holiday man was traveling eastbound on SR-52 and turned left at the intersection, colliding with a westbound KTM motorcycle.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The driver of the Outlander sustained minor injuries, as did two 16-year-old passengers. A 48-year-old female passenger in the Outlander suffered serious injuries. All four occupants of the Outlander were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. It serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of caution and awareness at intersections, especially for motorcyclists who are more vulnerable in collisions.
